The coronation day of King Charles III saw tens of thousands of people flock to London. Some in a spirit of jubilee, marked by crowns, union jack caps and flags adorned as capes. Umbrellas crowded windows to catch glimpses of the show. Many others, proudly wearing yellow, came with a much more serious demeanour. Anti-monarchy slogans were raised high with concerns for the relevance of their new king in an increasingly modern and polarised culture.
